This was the most pleasant experience I have ever had with a home improvement contractor. Brian and his assistant were on time, finished early and completely cleaned up the job site after the work was completed. Plus, they work very quietly. No boom-boxes! Pricing was more than fair based on the excellent quality of the prep and painting work. It is difficult to keep up an old home (built 1928) but Brian Seidel made it look new again. I will definitely be calling B.E.S. painting again.

Great service. Brian came out and gave us an estimate to complete the work along with all of the details of the work he was going to perform. We were able to schedule the work within a month of the estimate. Brian was very responsive throughout the whole process. He came out and painted a small area with the colors we picked out and then came out again when we changed the colors. He let us know when he would need access to the interior of the house to paint the windows and to update us on the delays due to weather and high humidity. BES stained my new backyard fence and gate and refinished my garage door using brush and roller.  Since two coats were required, BES took 1-day for the first coat and another day for the second.  BES does the work himself; he does not contract out to other hires. I selected the stain color.  BES prepared the surface, sanded where necessary, picked up the stain from the retailer. We negotiated a date. BES provided estimate. Work began and was finished on schedule and at cost.

Overall the experience was excellent and I plan to retain Brian to help us with future painting projects.  We sought quotes from three A-rated Angie's list painting companies.  All were very responsive.  The first two quotes were almost exactly the same --, which was substantially more than Brian's quote --.  Brian provided a detailed written estimate, as did the first painting company;  the second only provided notes on a business card.  We needed the work to start relatively soon, and Brian accommodated this request.  When we accepted Brian's quote, he provided a more detailed contract, which he presented and discussed -- he did not just give it to us and expect us to sign it.  I respected this professionalism.  Brian, the owner, was present during the entire job, assisted by one other painter.  The quality of their work was very good.  They were very quiet the entire time, listening to music on headphones and not talking very much.  (We did not request this, and I would have been fine with more talking and music, but appreciated his high degree of courtesy about this.)  When we encountered an issue with the former paint in the living room, Brian took the time to find it among the parade of cans in my garage closet (left by the prior house owner), and had the paint color matched.  The job was completed on time.  I later noticed some minor paint splatters in some of the wood floor areas by the French doors, and Brian promptly came back a few days later and spent an entire hour carefully removing the paint.  In one of the rooms a light fixture was to be installed later and, when that would occur, the area where the old light fixture attached to the ceiling would be newly exposed and unpainted;  Brian volunteered to come back and pain this when the fixture was installed, at no further cost.  Now that's service!  What speaks most loudly, though, is that I will be asking Brian to help us with future painting projects, and I have a growing list of them.

It was a very outstandingly good experience working with Brian.  No problems or headaches of any kind.  I had selected him after searching reviews on Angie's List, and after I called, we set an appointment for him to have a look at the two rooms and the back door that needed painting.  I had not yet settled on a paint color for the rooms, so Brian very kindly left his color samples for me to use at home rather than having me go to the paint store.  A couple of days later, Brian emailed the contract for me to review.  It was very complete and enumerated every detail of the job.  We had some emails back and forth about some questions I had, and he was very prompt in replying to my questions.  So I signed the contract, mailed it to him along with the deposit check, and we set a date to begin the job.
Brian and his helper arrived on time on the appointment date.  I had previously removed everything from the two rooms, and Brian covered the entire floor of the two rooms with protective paper and taped it down before starting the job.  It took two days for them to complete the job, and I could not have asked for a better result.  They really did a great job on both the two rooms and the new backdoor and its new wood framing.  The house was built in the '50's, and the old paint was so worn out and dreary looking, and now the rooms look beautiful and like new, and the new back door looks great too.  What  else can I say.  If you need painting done, call B.E.S. Painting!

I had an apartment for rent that had been painted badly by the previous painter. He did not properly prime the enamel surfaces and as a result the paint was peeling off the walls. He scraped the old paint, primed the walls and repainted all the enamel surfaces. He also touched up any spots on the flat surfaces that suffered wear and tear from the previous tenants.

Brian responded promptly to my phone calls, returned a quote quickly and when I needed the job done fast he even rearranged his schedule with another client so that my job could be completed sooner. We would like to thank Brian for such a great job he did painting and fixing the stucco on our house. From start to finish we had a very good experience working with Brian. when we first met he was right on time and very patient with us going around our house and inspecting the areas that were to be repaired and painted. Brian was so easy to work with because of his laid back personality, but yet was always extremely professional.  My wife and I saw first hand just how very meticulous and detailed the kind of work Brian does.  He spent a lot of time preparing our home to be painted. He spent days just going over stucco work and repairing an entire wall that should have been done right the first time by a former contractor, yet Brian was able to do a great job and had the wall matching the rest of the house. We liked very much that all the wood trim around the windows and vents was repaired well before painting. Brian was very careful about our plants always keeping them protected and covered. His work was always done in an organized and neat manner. At the end of each work day he always cleaned up and neatly packed up his work equipment. There was never any sort of mess or disorganization with Brian.

His price was well worth it and extremely reasonable for all the work that was done to our home. We just love the way the house turned out. It is nice to know there are still honest people who care about their work and customer, something that is not to common these days. We will definitely recommend Brian (BES Painting) to anyone needing their home painted. Brian, you were great to work with.

I am so pleased with this company, I can't stop smiling. I called BES Painting and Brian, the owner of the company, answered the phone. We set a time for him to come look at the job and he arrived right on time...not one minute late. Brian was very professional. Even his truck was neat and clean. He asked me questions about what I wanted and told me he would email an estimate to me. I wanted to make sure I could afford to do the job so I pressed him him for a ballpark price and he gave me one. That same evening I received the written emailed estimate and I was very impressed. I have never seen such a detailed estimate from a contractor. He listed the job step by step, including everything he would have to do to get the job done and how much it would cost. This method also gave me the option to omit steps if I chose to.

When it came to picking colors, Brian helped me which I appreciated. He also was very responsive to my request to use low or -0- VOC paints, which don't smell at all, are good for the environment, and healthier for pets and people with breathing problems. Brian told me which paint company he likes to use and in addition to giving me their paint swatches and printed materials, he emailed me the link to their site which enabled me to not only learn all about the different kinds of -0-% VOC paints but play with different color combinations on the site's 'virtual walls." There was no guessing about what the final product might look like, I was able to see it on my computer screen at home at my leisure.

I've used lots of different painters over the years and Brian at BES was by far the most respectful of my home. He warned me that the sanding would create dust but I never saw any! The first thing Brian did was cover my floor completely by taping brown paper to the floor and then he proceeded to mask off the entire work area (including doors to other rooms and the inside of a closet) with plastic. In the past, I've had to clean up after workers because they leave the place such a mess....dust everywhere. Not with BES. At the end of every workday Brian removed the masking (and saved it for the following day, which I appreciated seeing that it was more environmental friendly than throwing it away), swept the floor, and stacked his materials neatly in a corner after asking my permission to leave them there.

The job took 3 days and every day was delightful. Brian showed up on time or early (and if he was early he sat in his car waiting to come to the door at our appointed time), he was neat and clean, I never heard one note of the music he was listening to on his earphones, and he went out of his way to make me happy, in one instance actually re-patching, re-sanding, and re-painting a wall for me after I made a change.

I cannot recommend Brian and BES painting highly enough and can't wait to hire him again.

I was searching for someone to replace all of the windows in the house and to do a small amount of waterproofing, if necessary, to the front window area. I'm not sure what happened, whether it was an Angie's list error, or whether it was mine, but when I asked for "windows and waterproofing", B.E.S. Painting Co. was one of the choices that came up. I made an appointment for an estimate for the next day. Brian Seidel was there at exactly the correct time. He was extremely polite (and genuinely so). He was relaxed and actually listened to what I said about the project. He stated that he did not replace windows, but instead would normally be contracted to do the painting on newly installed or older windows. And, of course, they do any painting in general, as well as other services. He was very gracious about the misunderstanding and stated that he would be glad to offer any help or advice by phone even though he would not be contracted for any of the projects. I actually wished that I had not already contracted a painter for the house as I felt that Brian had a great deal of integrity -- and class. I am saving B.E.S.'s phone # and will absolutely call them in the future or if my present painter can not fulfill the contract. I have been meeting with contractors and various service companies for months now in order to get several estimates for all of the work to be done on this property. You run into a lot of boastful types that you just don't feel comfortable talking to as it seems that they have an agenda. Brian was calm and bright and made a very good first impression. (it doesn't hurt that he is also very good looking!)

Brian and his team painted the exterior of our ranch style home, November 2012. We are very pleased with the results. The house looks great! Brian gave us a competitive price, we chose him for his great attention to details, such as using lower VOC paint and avoiding the dispersement of old paint chips when sanding and scraping for preparation. BES did an excellent job staining my front door this December. He's given me a beautiful entry way.

I don't think this was an easy job. My family had tried to do the work ourselves for many years with sloppy results. Brian had to organize the work around cruddy weather. And he patched and matched termite damage perfectly.

He repaired the stucco under the door and matched the other exterior paint exactly.

My door is a large pieced wood door with sidelight windows set in wood that was also stained. It has curved areas and surfaces of different height.Brian of BES sanded the door, by hand and machine, down to the bare wood.

He spent time showing me stain samples to help me pick the stain shade.

Brian is present on every job. He did most of the work on my door himself, though he had an assistant present the day the door had to be removed.

BES has many excellent reviews on painting. I want you to know he's also great at staining, which is a whole different kettle of fish. It requires more time and back and forth, which he did a good job planning to accommodate the rainy weather we had in Dec. Brian seems to enjoy staining jobs. If you're one of the many who thinks staining is a headache, call BES. They're great at it
